You know what drives me nuts? On a related note. One meddles in something. One wins a medal. One does not 'medal' in a sporting event. One might meddle in it, if one was an underdog and won.

The verbising of perfectly good nouns by serious journalists drives me insane.

And we won't even talk about the "possessive plural" being used professionally. Makes me tear my hair out.
