You LOSE something.

You turn a dog LOOSE.

You see a GRIZZLY bear.

You see a GRISLY murder.

Get it? Got it? Good.

(Sorry, it just gets to me when I see these mistakes even in semi-professional writing. Argh.)

You WONDER what happened to education.
You WANDER around the room.

That one is my biggest pet peeve.

Also, you know you're RPing too much when you put quotes on sentences that are simply replies to someone's journal entry.

The ones I remember from the 24um were my faves: 'trader' for traitor and 'Jack's gone rouge' which always made me picture him dressed up as a dancer at the Moulin Rogue (sic)

"OMG, I do that all the time!" Shelle replied, grinning.

I do that too. :)

OMG, Jack is a trader! Go see how much he can get us on oil futures!

Michelle: *facepalm* Jack's gone rouge. Tony, do you think you can get him to wash it off?

It's surprised me how often loose/lose is confused, I didn't think it was a particularly hard one.

The loose/lose thing drives me insane, I'm not even kidding.

Oh, seriously. And whenever I read about a 'grizzly murder' I wonder if the bears are really that angry. :)

You certainly don't want a grizzly bear to get loose, there would be a grisly death and someone would lose their life.

Yes she is, but it doesn't matter cos she wasn't good enough for him anyway and I think she was a lesbian cos she had rilly short hair OMG.

Oh 24um, let me count the ways in which I don't miss you.

You know what drives me nuts? On a related note. One meddles in something. One wins a medal. One does not 'medal' in a sporting event. One might meddle in it, if one was an underdog and won.

The verbising of perfectly good nouns by serious journalists drives me insane.

Ugh. Seriously.

And we won't even talk about the "possessive plural" being used professionally. Makes me tear my hair out.
