Update II: The Diagnosis
Autism: Pervasive Developmental Disorder: Not Otherwise Specified.
It's pretty much what we expected. His lack of speech development took him out of the Asperger's section. His intelligence is normal. They're suggesting genetic testing to find out certain things.
The testing went well, and Liam was very good and cooperative. Boston Children's Hospital is a really beautiful facility and the people were very helpful.
It's good to have a diagnosis at last. It's good to know what is going on with him. Now we'll have to structure his life and our lifestyle a little more to support him so that he can concentrate on what he needs, and not on "oh, dear, I'm going to trip over things again."
I'm anticipating the Week from Hell, what with this, PTO, the anniversary of mom's death, and a Family Night at the school--all this week.
I need to RP and get into someone else's head for a while.
Thank you to all the people who commented and gave support in my last posts. I appreciate it more than you know.
