So.

My son had his yearly checkup. He's only in the 9% for weight in his age group. The doctor suggested that Liam have a milkshake in the evening every so often to see if he can put on some weight. For some reason, this makes me LOL. Liam was all "Yay!" :D!

The other thing? Liam might be color-blind, the red/green variety. He flunked the color test on his eye exam. At least he's got 20/20 vision. I can't worry much about the color-blindness, since my dad is also color blind in the same way. I just wonder how that will hamper his safety and if it will affect his ability to appreciate art and things like that.

Oh, well...there's nothing they can really do about it, so I suppose that I really can't worry about it.

Still...it's another thing. Liam didn't seem overly worried about it.

Don't comment here much.. but thought I could say something on the colorblindness thing. I am color-blind (lol unlucky genes), but we didn't find it until I was 11. It never once hindered me as I was going through school (although I am not red/green). My father however is red/green and he likewise has never had issue with it (and is also an avid art-lover). :)

Also.. yumm milkshakes!

Thanks for the information! As a mom you worry about so much. Liam tends to love pink...now I'm wondering if he's really *seeing* pink as I would see it.

Yeah, the milkshake thing was awesome. heh.

The experience of colour is such a wonderfully subjective thing...meet enough colour-blind people, and you realize that we're all seeing our own palettes, really, and it seems to make the world a richer, more interesting place, to me! My husband is somewhat red/green colour-blind, and he still sees the world and art as beautiful - we might just disagree over what colour shirt he's wearing that day, is all!

I like the milkshake order, too. I had cake this afternoon and declared it was for Baby's sake, since I'm under orders to gain some weight... :D

Oooh, baby weight gain...so fun to put on...so difficult to take off...

*hugs* Yeah, what you say makes sense. It just seems sometimes that there's one more thing my little guy has to deal with every year...

I hope Liam actually *drinks* the milkshakes now...
