* The "Twilight" Series. I cannot decide if they are trashy crap, or just trashy stupid fun. I have not read them. Though I will if only to see what all the fuss is about. Judging from the way the writing has been discussed, "trashy" will always be appended to my opinion, I think. Who on my f-list has read them, and what did you think? (OMG, I just said I would read the YA equivalent of badfic, urgh.)

* I have my contact lenses! It's amazing how sharp my vision is with them. :)

* Have I stated how much diabetes sucks? Because it does. I'm still doing okay on my diet but my schedule is starting to eat me alive. Earlier nights might be in the cards for me.

* I am *so* looking forward to my vacation to Maine. However, I probably should get the rest of LAST YEAR'S pictures up before I have more from this year, eh?

* My head is going to explode. See everyone tonight! :)

Haven't read Twilight, but I have read her adult novel, The Host and adored it. It wasn't brilliant literature, but it was interesting and had a likable and unusual protagonist. I'm probably going to read the Twilight series just to see how they compare, because there was something compelling about the author's "voice" if it's consistent across books.

No head explosions allowed. It's such a mess to have to clean up.

Hannah read the first couple books and says "meh." But here's the real story: she read the first one and liked it enough to ask me to get her the second one... but then she started realizing that people were badmouthing it online and decided it was too full of Mary Sues. So now she's full of disdain for the series.

Heh. Yeah, I read the critiques first, so I know what to expect, for the most part. But I can't be properly snarky about something I haven't read, so. :)

I've read Twilight, all four of them. The first two are pure unadulterated trashy crap fun. You HAVE to read them with the mindset of CRAX as opposed to serious. Serious read will just make you want to cry and yell at things.

The third is... trashy crap, not too horrible, but not as much fun as the first two.

The fourth is just crappy trashy crap crappity crap. It's AWFUL. Even by standards of awful books.

LOL, I've heard the same thing about the last one. I've read someone else's review, and...I can't believe this is marketed as YA in the first place.

Urgh.
