The perils of temping...

Just got told today that as of Friday, they won't have any more work for me to do at my client's job. It sucks royally because I *really* liked my job in a big way. I liked the work and I liked the people. It's been two hours since I found out and now I'm starting to get the shakes. I do know what I'm going to do, as far as trying to get a new job. The client let my temp agency know that I'll be free, so I've got three days of lead time. I'm planning on trying to get into medical transcription at last, so that's another thing. I'm going to update my resume tonight (not now, hands shaking too much) and look up some med. transcription agencies. I'm probably going to clean in a fit of nerves. And cry.

Oh, I'm so sorry. That must be really hard. I remember my temping days (well, years really) and I never really got a job that way that I loved the way you loved yours, but that was mostly because it took me a decade to figure out that I made a much better typesetter/graphic designer than I ever did a secretary. However, once I'd made the switch I had a horrible experience with being abruptly laid off from my dream job for a couple of weeks (due to lack of work and low seniority) and not knowing if they'd take me back... so I do sympathize.

Thank you all for the support...as you can see in my update...I've got an interview on Monday. So things are a bit better. Whew!
