First off, thank you to all for my many birthday wishes this week. I really appreciated them!

I've been rather out of sorts, considering that I've been unemployed for a while. I feel a little like I've "fallen into the ether"--sort of like characters in '24' that the writers forget about. You know, they disappear, and you don't notice much at first, but then several episodes later, you say, "Hey, whatever happened to..."

Yeah, like that.

My son will be starting school on September 1st. Kindergarten. Wow. I think he's ready academically. Last night he treated me to an explanation of which letters were "upper case" and which letters were "lower case". He knows all of his colors, most shapes, the alphabet, and can count to twenty and above. Routine-wise, he's definitely ready. He's been bored stiff for the past couple weeks summer program has been over. Last year was all full-day Early Childhood Program, so he's prepared for Full-day Kindergarten.

I've got things to do though! I've got to get him a new backpack that isn't going to take up his entire torso. That'll be kind of tough to find...and then there are clothes. Mostly shirts, socks and underwear.

I'm still struggling along with proper eating habits. It's nighttimes that provide the most challenges for me. I need to pop a piece of gum in my mouth as soon as I stop eating dinner. Maybe then I can avoid the food temptations lurking in my pantry. ;)

Not much else to tell, really. I'm back on a writing jag again, and I feel like I need to do a massive "brain dump" to get all my ideas out on paper, which is definitely very very good.

Now, let's see how long it takes me to update again...

Go to MusicOutfitters and put your birth year into the search box. The first link is likely the top 100 songs of that year. Cut and paste that list here. Bold the ones you actually like. Understand that the word "like" in this case means, at the very least, "wouldn't immediately change the radio station from." Pick a favorite. Underline that favorite.

Top 100 Hits of 1969 / Top 100 Songs of 1969 )

It was *so* hard to pick a favorite out of all those! I picked the song I like to belt in the car when it comes on the radio. (yes, I sing with the radio. Loudly.)
