Q: How did you get into Harry Potter?
Actually, the fundies did it! I wanted to see what all the hubbub was about, plus I saw that some people online that I knew were Christians were reading them, so I picked up the first book.
It was the best time I've ever had reading in my life! It was so much fun to read, and I just appreciated all the care JKR took with her world. I didn't find the least offense in the books, and since I know rather more about the Dark Arts than I'd like, I knew these were just good fun.
Q: Read the books?
Oh, yes...and then I got my husband reading them. (rubs hands evilly)
Q: Where will you be on June 21st (release of the Fifth book)?
Either my hubby or I will be getting the book, or rather books. We are buying two, so we don't have to fight over one copy, then we're giving one of them to our local library. But hopefully, on the night, I'll be reading voraciously.
Q: Who are your favorite characters?
Do I have to pick? I *can't* pick! I love them all...
Q: Who are your favorite relatively minor characters? (minor meaning they were never the main focus in any one of the books so far)
I adore Neville. Love, love, love. Just want to hug him and give him cookies and milk. It's a Mummy thing.
Q: Favorite Professor? (If your favorite character is a professor, please pick another professor)
Professor Lupin.
Q: Have any HP merchandise?
I have a notebook with the mirror of Erised on it that's my food journal, I have the daybook for 2003 and posterbooks for Sorceror's Stone and Chamber of Secrets.
Q: Do you relate to any characters?
Harry and Ginny. Hermione. I have Ron's sense of humor sometimes.
Q: Do you look like any characters?
Nope.
Q: Do you act like any characters?
I'm a hybrid of Harry, Ginny, and Hermione.
Q: What is your favorite house?
Actually, I have a soft spot for Hufflepuffs.
Q: Is there a house you absolutely hate?
Nope.
Q: Honestly, not just because of what house is your favorite, what house would you be in?
Probably Hufflepuff.
Q: If you were a student, placed in the house you'd honestly be in, what sort of house member would you prefer to date?
Don't know. I'm married, so it would be a bit wierd... ^-^
Q: Okay, suddenly you are a student in Harry's year. Pick someone you'd die to date.
They're all out of school now. But honestly, probably Neville. He'd be adorable.
Q: Okay, now you are back in time, a student with James Potter. Pick someone you'd die to date.
Sirius or Remus.
Q: Now, you have answered who you can date, now let's talk about just flings. Which Harry Potter character(s) would you like to have nice long shag with, repeatedly?
Charlie. Because Arthur and Percy are taken. And Charlie's my age.
Q: One at a time, or all together?
One at a time. Eek, who do you think I am?
Q: Who would be your secret HP crush?
Harry. I'd be Ginny Weasley all over again.
Q: Is there a character that annoys you to no end, and should you meet them in real life, you'd want to kill them?
The Dursleys and Rita Skeeter. And Cornelius Fudge.
Q: Do you ever compare people to material in the Harry Potter books?
Not really.
Q: Do you ever privately sort people into houses when you meet them?
Not really.
Q: Who is your favorite founder?
Gryffindor.
Q: Do you really believe the statement "Not a witch or wizard in Slytherin doesn't go bad"?
No. That's based on rank predjudice, and it's not even the quote from the book, is it?
Q: Do you really blame the founder of the house for all of the out-of-date prejudices that Slytherins seem to have?
No, I blame the society that nurtures those prejudices. (Taking Lizbee's answer because it's right)
Q: Do you think that Draco Malfoy will actually redeem himself as many fandom folk try to portray him as doing?
I'm not sure. I can see him going either way. I hope he redeems himself, but I'm not holding my breath.
Q: Do you think that Professor Snape can actually go back to spying?
It would be tricky, but he *is* rather clever. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
Q: Is there any character you would give your wand arm for, just to see them die? Voldemort doesn't count.
I'd like to see Cornelius Fudge kick it.
Q: Is there any character that in the event of their death you would have no qualms about holding Rowling hostage until the author writes the next book and finds some way to bring them back?
No. I'd be sad, but...no.
Q: Do you read fan fiction?
Heavens, yes.
Q: Where do you usually haunt for fan fiction?
SugarQuill
Q: What is your favorite fandom pairing?
H/G, R/H, Yes, I'm dull. And, of course, Molly/Arthur, but of course I'm biased against the ship I write. ;-)
Q: Who was the first pairing you ever read?
Hee, Maud/Snape.
Q: Has the slash bug caught you?
Nopeity nope nope.
Q: What sort of pairings are you most willing to read?
See above.
Q: Is there any pairing that when you see it, you want to beat someone over the head with a blunt object? If so, who?
H/H, Snape/Lily, and H/D. (honestly!)
Q: Which rare pairing are you currently on a kick about? In other words, reading every fan fiction of them you can get your hands on?
None, really. I just like the main ones, yes, I'm dull. Though I think D/G can be interesting, though I don't read it.
Q: How are you about original characters serving as the main character in a story, particularly in a romance with a canon character?
I don't mind it at all if it's well done.
Q: What do you think of when people use alias like DracoMalfoysGurl?
Um...Okay...?
Q: Do you think that there is any elitism among authors in fandom groups? If so, who?
Not really.
Q: Who is your favorite author?
There are lots on sugarquill. R.J. Anderson, Erica Smith, Ozma, Mursaki99, Ransom (hi, dear), oh, so many others.
Q: What makes you love a fan fiction?
Good writing, unique ideas, a bit of humor in all the right places...and not taking itself too seriously...
Q: What makes you hate a fan fiction?
Bad spelling! especially mis-spelling main character's names. Canon characters out of character, boys crying (by this I mean overly-sentimental weeping, not that male characters can't cry) too much, Shakespearean language in fifteen year old boys.
Q: How often a day to check fan fiction?
Once or twice, usually. (Same here, lizbee)
