Hired! A Jam Handy Production...
Jam Handy to the rescue!
Okay, 'nuff of that. Well, I got a new temp assignment today. It's going to be for 12 weeks and mainly data entry, which is right up my alley. I had my interview at 9:30 AM and found out at about 2:15 PM today. I'll be working 9-1:30PM, five days a week. An extra nice thing about it is that I don't start until next Monday, so I have some time this week to do some other stuff and let Shadow-man (hubby) sleep in the mornings, for which he is eternally grateful.
It also gives me an excuse to buy a few clothes, since it's 'business casual' and I don't have much that fits this category.
In other news, I went to the Hudson Valley Harper's Guild on Saturday and got through my piece without having a nervous breakdown. The nice thing is that these are 'real life harpers', which means they sometimes don't practice as much as they could and sometimes make mistakes. They applaud our 'excuses' for not practising, and no one makes mistakes--they are called "variations". The last hour that I was there was a "harp jam" session. Two people began doing a specific piece of music, and everyone else joined in, even though they didn't know the piece, and boy, did it go on for a long time. Even I, a rank beginner, was able to join in and do some "rhythm harp". This was cool, almost like a celidh with only harps! Everyone is wickedly cool and very friendly. Even an introvert like me felt comfortable there, and the atmosphere inspires me every time.
So thank you to everyone who sent prayers and good thoughts my way. Things are looking up.
