Don't DO That!

OK, so I wake up, most inconveniently at about 2:30AM. I'm lying there looking up when it looks like there is lightening flashing in my room.

Frowning, I blink a few times. It's still happening.

Oh, crap, I think. I rub my eyes and open them again. Still happening.

Oh, damn. I must have retinal detachment!!

So I get up, thinking about how I'm going to have to call my ophthalmologist, but oh shit, my insurance from the new job doesn't start for a couple of weeks, and oh crap what am I going to do...

When I notice that our !$##!@#$ CFL light in the kitchen (that we keep on for the purpose of not breaking our necks when we have to get up in the night) is flickering and sounding as if there's a bug trapped into the light fixture. I give it a dirty glare, and switch it off.

No more lightening. Yay for no retinal detachment?! \o/!

And now I can't sleep. *headdesk*

SLEEP WHY WILL YOU ELUDE MEEEEEE!?

Oooh...man the light left on freakout! I once leapt like 5 feet out of bed because I was convinced there was a roach in the bed with me! But nothing like that (you're much smarter than me though, I only *sort of* know what retinal detatchment is)

Hee, I have to know because I have double whammy: diabetes and very, very nearsighted. :)
